You know at some point those plaintiff attorneys are going to have to learn that parasites don’t survive if they kill the host!

Only one thing is certain: the lawyers got 33 percent of the stated ($52 Million) settlement figure. Whether the actual "claimants" get anything (justified or not) remains to be seen....Don't hold your breath!

Facebook is parasitic by definition. Like most larger parasites they've developed analgesic properties so the host doesn't object.
As far as the content moderaters suffering from PTSD, I would pay big money not to have to view what the dregs of society consider entertainment worthy of sharing. Use your imagination, then stop before you get too far. 😕
Moderation has gotta be done, but don't kid yourself that screening the worst of the worst 8 hours a day, 5 days a week wouldn't give you nightmares.

My thoughts, exactly. And I think, one should not wager one person with
an illness against someone else, who has been suffering the same
illness, but for a different cause.

We all ride different horses out there. I worked inside a Maximum Security
Institution from June 30, 1977, until July 1, 1996. 5 days a week, I walked
through the Sallyport, passed turnkey, heard those Iron doors slam behind
me, and did my job of working with the "worst of the worse."
So by comparison, someone that sits on their backside, staring at a
computer screen during their work days, does not sound like a "high stress"
job to me. I listened to language daily that you can only imagine the
content and the intent of.
PTSD? Not in the world I used to work in. But, we all handle "stress"
in our own fashion. But, millions of dollars? Hmmmm. I might have to
question that court decision a bit.

PTSD by a job on a computer screen? Entirely possible: A (military) drone
operator could see some pretty catastrophic stuff. Just saying. Oh well
back to much more pleasant GMC content lol

PTSD or its equivalent happens frequently to those who spend long durations in intensive care status

If I read the news correct, the total settlement is for that amount.
Each individual gets a couple of thousands. But I have been wrong before.

Basically, it's cheaper to pay them off than to pay the legal cost of fighting it. Particularly in a California court, and there's a chance of losing it.
I like the Brit system where, if I understood it correctly, the loser pays costs. Here, the Judge may assign costs or may not.
