Greetings from Southern California !!
We're rounding up parts for a timing chain replacement project - along with all of the other components on the front of the engine...
As y'all know - the version with the roller bearing (Cardone Industries 55-21118H) seems to be no longer available.
Might anyone know of a secret stash somewhere ??

Steve,
From what I have experienced with standard pumps for the GMC, I would not
loose sleep over using a standard one.
In the last 15 years, all the pump Mfg co has been using larger capabb CB
it’s bearings. Yes the bearing in that pump is great, I run one, but it
really does not convince me that it will outlast the std by much.

FWIW, I picked up one of these pumps as a spare: Dayco DP9951

It's a heavy duty version of the Dayco DP995... It seemed similar to the heavy duty Cardone pump, (New casting, roller bearing) except better, IMO as it has the anti-cavitation plate on the impeller....
It's a nice looking part, FWTW. It's an iron casting, but has some sort of anti-rust coating.... Powder coated or some sort of e-coat maybe? MEK does not seem to remove it, so not enamel anyway. Even came with new studs. Not bad for 40 bucks... I'm using it as a spare, so I can't comment on actually using it, but the part definitely shows an attention to detail you don't normally see on an aftermarket part.. And if that translates over into the quality of the parts used, assebbly, QC etc., it should be a good part.

All looks great on paper, but when I demand that they paay for labor when
it fails, I dont think they will do it.
Dayco is a V Belt manufacture that is trying to grow by goig into water
pumps as it is big business for older vehicles.
The bearing they are using is NOT the ones we have been HYPING.

Geez, Jim... What did Dayco steal your girlfriend? Kick your dog? All I was saying is it's a nice looking part...
I didn't call them up to see what brand of bearings they use, (Though the description does say "Case-hardened roller bearing") nor did I check to see if they'll cover the sixer of Shiner it will take me to swap it out if it fails...
In fact, I'm not even running it on my coach... It's a spare for me. I'm currently running a FLow Kooler pump I bought from you... It's just a good looking part is all. There is no casting flash, it appears well machined... and it weighs nearly 12 pounds. Only thing I found to complain about is they must have spec'd the box for an aluminum pump, as it was falling apart when it got to me.
Yes, it may be lipstick on a pig... The machining may be way off, the bearing may be crap... I did not go that far into it...
Was just throwing it out there as it appears someone made a nice looking part for a reasonable price that would fit on our coach...
