I just have to vent since it has been about 10 years when I did this before.
I would like to strangle the guy with the staple gun that put in my carpet
and pad. He must have been paid piece work, by the staple. But , my new
vinyl flooring will be soooo nice.

Reminds me of when I worked at a lumber mill. It was my job for a while to wrap the lumber packages for final sale. The loads would come down a line with one guy standing on each side with sort of milk carton material tabs and a pneumatic staple gun. Occasionally, out of sheer boredom at the repetitiveness, we would put about 50 staples in each tab. Depending on the length of the load that could amount to ALOT of staples as they were tabbed every 2 feet...poor guy taking off that wrap on the other end must've been cursing the heck out of us just as you are.
I was much younger then so don't judge me...
