I don't know why it hasn't been mentioned, that I have seen, but there is a
cure for most of the "I'm stuck" issues.
Turn around and back up!. One has a lot better traction pushing than
pulling. Taking my coach skiing, I have been substantially more successful
in moving around ice and snow backing out of places than going forward with
chains.
I once broke a rear axle in a '45 Ford flatfender and the only way off the
beach in soft sand was...backward.
Try it. Most of the time it will work for you.

Can conform. The LSD is worth it
Best example was climbing a steep, winding, slippery campground road in the pouring rain, I could feel one side slip then the other, back and forth and the coach just walked up the hill, it would have been a trick in a one wheel wonder

I can also vouch for the limited slip final drive. It has saved my bacon on numerous occasions. Just as Keith stated, it will tend to 'walk' up a steep gravel hill. It feels weird to feel one wheel getting traction, then the other, and so on, but it keeps you moving.
I have also had mine pull me through a mudhole once when I took a wrong turn on the way to a forest service campground near Williams in Northern Arizona. Without the L.S.D. I would have surely been stuck in the mud on THAT one.

We have spent thousands trying to see which co would do a LS for us since
1998.
Big problem was the Narrow housing .
We reached out to several in USA and overseas.
Shipped drawings and housings and the. Bottom line was always a NO.
Few years ago a guy reached out to us with a unit and we tried it and
started ordering them, but when a supplier that requested money up front
would not return calls or emails for over a month, I felt he had some
issues that was too risky to continue . I have been burned by people that
wanted money up front and never delivered or died.
So now we have taken that original unit and Mfg them here.
Limited Slip is not a positraction , so it does work well on the front.
After around 250-300 ft lbs of torque difference, it will slip.
There is one large pinon bearing that is very high priced and hard to
source so it is costing over$ 160 for it.

Having Jim's LSD is one of my favorite PO installed upgrades. Saved my butt a few times Here's a picture of the GMC tire tracks in a wet gravel road leading to an obnoxious steep RV site. This camp was just outside of Glacier Park and what I refer to as mountain goat sites. I spun gravel up and around and threaded the needle between two tree trunks. We actually spent time in our chairs watching as people slid up and down this road. Most made it but some didn't. Of course the pic doesn't do it justice.
