I am in the midst of dropping my fuel tanks and need to drain the fuel first. I searched extensively in my books as well as this forum to no avail as to their actual location. Can someone please tell me where specifically on the tank they are located.

PS - I know they are on the bottom smart ass! Smile

TIA

Thank you. Looks like front driver side. I'll go poke around.

Cheers

Front driver's side is the correct location.

Be careful when you try to unscrew those fuel tank drain bungs. They are just attached to the sheet metal tanks and have had 40+ years to corrode and seize in place.

Too much force and you may rip them from the tank!

There was already an electric pump back by the tanks on mine. I put a hose on the output of the pump and applied power to it to pump the fuel into a couple of 5 gallon gas jugs in short order. Once I started to drop them I kept the passenger side of the tank down further to contain the bit of fuel that was left.
