Hi All - I am missing two rivets at the right rear corner of the roof cap. Where do I purchase the rivets? Will I need to take down he ceiling to put on backing washers?

Thank you

Check into McMaster-Carr:

https://www.mcmaster.com/rivets?ref=driverlayer.com

They might have what you're looking for.

You could try some blind claw rivets.

Is the entire rivet missing? If it is then take a piece of wire put a
small 90 deg bend on the end to determine the total thickness needed to the
correct rivet length. I would suggest the following rivet from McMasters
Carr.

The Rivet does not require a backing washer.

John,

Can you describe them in more detail, or provide a McMaster product number? The link just brings up “rivets” in McM’s web page. I have never found rivets with as big a head as the originals in that spot, but I need them, too.

The rivet is 3/16" diameter, the flanged head is 5/8" diameter. Part of the rivet is still in place so I can not push a wire to the full length. I think I will take the inside cap down before I do anything else. It looks like the head of the rivet is larger than a regular pop rivet.

There are pop robots that have slits thstbecpand as much as 5/8 dia. So it
works well without hassle.
Should you have issues locating them then let me know.

Les,

Large head rivets
https://www.airpartsinc.com/Large_Flange_Pop_Rivet.htm

Olympic rivets have slotted shafts and the legs open up to increase the bearing surface on the backside.
https://www.airpartsinc.com/Olympic_Shaveable_Pop_Rivets_5-32_.htm
The head shaving tool is really slick but I've never been able to rationalize buying one.
