Well, I decided to remove the drip rail (which I've read may have not been necessary, but alas)... to ensure there will be no leaks after I replace the floor. I should have researched more before i endeavoured but i didn't... Alas, I have a horseshoed corkscrewed drip rail. I'm embellishing a bit but but you get the drift...Any tips to getting it back to flat? It's not kinked just warped.... quite harshly. TIA

I would think that if its just "U" shaped from forcefully lifting it and not kinked or creased anywere that you could work it back straight manually.
If the "drip part" was damaged you could re-form it using a small hammer and a firm backing piece of the same shape as a "dolly".
Without a pic its pretty hard to help you exactly.
