was that a "court room" decision or a deal cooked up by the
insurance companies ? What if your teen had been paralyzed by the other's fault

This. I wasn't going to say anything, but a person is almost ALWAYS
responsible for their own acts of negligence. The law of negligence
does not cease to apply depending on where you're standing.

Whether the cops will come fill out a report or issue a ticket is a
seperate matter.

I keep telling you guys to stay away from Walmarts. They are dangerous
places. JoAnn, first, call your Insurance Provider, and see if they have
mobile claims service available. Then arrange a tow to a Repair facility and
have a detailed chassis inspection done. If the plastic nose is intact in
the area around the windshields, It can perhaps be temp repaired so you can
limp home. WIWD.

This may not have anything to do with your lean-run condition, but it may be worth checking anyhow. The thick phenolic spacer under the carb has a bad habit of cracking due to heat from the heat riser. It's entirely possible that there may be a hairline crack in it. I'd recommend that it be replaced if you have any doubt that it ever has been. It's cheap insurance to prevent a vacuum leak. I've replaced one without even undoing any linkage. With the carb bolts removed, it's fairly easy to slide the old one out & the new one in. Mine was busted all to pieces, but I was rebuilding the carb anyway. Can't hurt to check it.
