I saw this Sony radio advertised by Crutchfield that caught my eye. I’m looking for something inexpensive for my old Toyota Sequoia but thought this might work for the coach.

I’m looking for something that is CarPlay compatible so I can use the apps in my phone. This also has an input for a backup camera.

The display is Double DIN but the chassis is Single DIN and is on top. Most radios like this that I’ve seen have the chassis down at the bottom of the screen. I don’t want to cover the HVAC controls. Maybe this would work.

It looks like some trimming would be required of the horse collar but it may be worthwhile. Any thoughts?

There are a few stereos I have seen that have a slide out-and-DOWN screen. Here's one example:

Instead of modifying the horse collar, you could get a bezel extension. Crutchfield also has an installation kit (American International CGM-123 Dash Kit) that comes with a flush bezel as well as 1/2 inch and 1 inch extensions.

Stay away from Clarion, their support is a waste of time.

Definitely read the 1 and 2 star reviews on the Sony before you pull the trigger.

I haven't bought any Sony in some years. They're like Hondas, well designed and put together. Also like Hondas, their quality hasn't slipped so much as their competitors have caught up with them. And held their price points in the process.
