Need the cap for the combustion chamber. Lit the furnace off for my first time, worked great but the cap on the combustion chamber was rusted and cracked

First, be sure your CO detector has a good battery. Then consider. If the 'cap' has the furnace fire on one side and is cracked, it means the remainder of the burner is suspect. Given the danger in a combustion leak I'd replace the furnace. They aren't that expensive.

If your suburban furnace is like mine then it has a cast iron burner. Find a local suburban shop and see if it can be serviced. The cast iron robes seem to be bulletproof.
