Is the compressor relay anything special, or is it simply a SPST 30 amp relay?
I think the compressor is working too hard and I noticed that the thing was hot. Then I noticed the the Brown / Green connector seemed to be melting. It's likely that my old Dana is waiting for loved ones to pull the plug. I've got the coach at Jim K's place now and asked Nick to simply move the plumbed schrader and shutoff valve so that I can actually reach them when the coach is low, so that I can manually set the ride hight. That very nice feature is now located behind the tire in an absolutely inaccessible place when her belly is on the ground.
I've added wireless air to my wish list since the 6 solenoid + compressor are going to get expensive over time.
Here's an interesting newbie factoid - if the coach is low and you want to put your bottle jack under the bogie, you'd better call a panicking mother to lift up the coach first. Without a Jack Hook you will be SOL.

What part exactly are you asking about?
I have a 1976 Palm Beach. There is a relay that looks like a horn relay mounted on the front wall of the cabinet where the compressor is. I have never had a problem there, so I have never researched that circuit or part.
It took a while to find it on a GMC wiring diagram and it appears the power for the relay coil is from the control switches for the electro-level. The relay points are protected by a 30 amp CB and only the N/C contact is used.
So in my opinion any 12vdc 30 amp relay could be used. But why not just go get a GM horn relay.
I do not remember any solenoid.

One caveat might be the duty cycle rating of the relay coil.
HI blower relay would be a continuous duty coil, horn relay is
intermittent duty.
Intermittent duty coils will heat up when energized continuously and may
quickly burn out after a short period of time.
Relay contact current rating may also be an issue. Blowers and
compressors are probably higher current devices than horns.

Any 30 amp or bigger relay would be fine. But if the wire is melting it's probably not the relay thats bad(yet). Sounds like an undersized wire or a bad connection
Before you buy a Wireless Air look at MicroLevel. It's all that and then some.

I love the control panel and the simplicity of the thing. I keep vacillating between going totally manual, fixing the current, or updating to
something like yours. My pocketbook usually speaks louder than my want's or needs, but Christmas is coming and I've been a very good boy this year...
