Is it safe to run the generator ,while parked, in its fully closed position . By this I mean power drawer fully retracted and access hatch closed.
Thanks

That is how it is supposed to be used.

Jeffery
It is meant to run with the Onan closed in and the door closed. The design pulls the cooling air in and around the top of the Onan and ejects it at the bottom.
It doesn’t cool as well when it is pulled out as the air doesn’t circulate properly.

In hot weather, I also set a box fan blowing under the coach from the Onan side to keep the hot exhausted air from rising on the Onan side and going back into the intake.

Another point that few realize is that when running the onan with the drawer pulled out, there is less heat shielding above the muffler, potentially allowing all that heat to affect nearby parts like the starter etc. When the onan is pushed in, the drawer shelf becomes a heat barrier between the muffler and the engine components above it.
