Just got off the phone with Kara. She mentioned he passed away last night
after fighting off and on with cancer since 2013. Our prayers go out to
Kara and the family. Arrangements not yet available.

Very sad news. Gary was a avid motorhead and devoted GMCer. Very active
on the GMCnet for many years as well as GMCMI.
My sincere condolences to Kara and the family.

Oh what a loss. For his wife and family, and his extended GMC family, too.

How sad I am! I tried to call Kara last night but got "Gary's not
available right now." on the answering machine.
A real loss for the community.
Kara told me when she let me know that he was in hospice that she'll be
offering up their GMC and all of Gary's considerable inventory of engines
and other parts from "his barn". Someone nearby needs to offer to help her
with inventory and advertising. I've done so, but I'll only be in that
area around early October, which may be an inappropriate time.

Gary was a walking source of information and always willing to assist.
I feel blessed to have rubbed elbows with such a knowledgeable and
experienced man.
I'm sure Walt Halley and others in the area will assist Kara to clean up
the inventory.

It is with great sadness that we heard of Gary’s passing, he fought a great fight. As a Great Laker he was a great source of knowledge and parts. I consider him and Kara great friends having spent many rallies with him and Kara and will miss them both at future GMCGL rallies and GMCMI conventions.

Oh, how sorry I am to hear this, not only for me, but for all of us. He was
always a highlight at a rally, and a source of deep knowledge and
encouragement, particularly for the motorheads.

May Gary finally be in that place where he can wear shorts comfortably year
around.
So sorry to hear of his passing. I was so blesses to have been able to call
