I have a quick question on the operation of my appliances. With the generator running should that run the fridge or do I need to set it to propane? I assume the fridge doesn't work off the engine charge and if not the generator do folk drive with the propane on to keep the fridge cool?

Depends on the fridge. A three way fridge operates on 12 volts (not as efficiently), 110 volts from your generator or shore power, or propane. Many people run down the road with the fridge on propane (I do not) but "Mac the Fire Guy" says to never have your propane valve on while underway.
If you are running your generator while driving, and your fridge is set to the "Auto" position, it will be running on 110 volt AC power.

Look in the back and see if you see a standard House electrictrical plug.
Most refrigerators require a 12 volt to operate the computer that operate
the unit.
Like Carl said, the 12 volt source is not very desirable to use for cooling.
