Sure wish that engine and tranny were a whole lot closer to Oklahoma City!

If it were me, I'd see if I could pay him to strap it to a pallet and drop it off at a Fastenal location to ship it to a Fastenal near me, and then pick it up locally. And I'm a lot closer.

We use Fastenal frequently to ship large or heavy items. The deal is they ship store to store. You have to deliver the item to the store ad have someone pick it up on the other end.
We ship a lot of airplane engines that way. It is very convenient for us because you can see the Fastenal store about 1 block away from the back of the hangar.

Thanks, Ken. I never knew they did that. We've got a Cad500+TH425 to ship
soon; we'll have to look into that option.

Fastenal to Fastenal shipping, on a pallet, is about the cheapest way to go for heavy items. You have to be willing to drop off at the store, and the buyer has to pick up at the store.
I ship by Greyhound items that are big and bulky, waaaaaaay cheaper than FedEx, UPS etc. but again, you have to have a buyer willing to pick up at Greyhound. Recently sold a cello to a woman in Denver and Greyhound was the best way to do it, I could afford to package the cello so it woundn't be damaged in a huge box and it was still only about $30 to ship it across the country.
