I had someone helping me wash and wax my GMC and I asked them to remove the grill, headlight buckets and W/S wipers so I could refinish them all. That was a couple of years ago and now I see the grill uses some kind of special fastener in the opening and have no idea where they disappeared to all that time ago.
I'm hoping it's just some sort of standard receptacle but can't picture what it might be that fits those 'U' shaped openings. Some help please?
TIA,

HI Ken,
A lot of us have purchased 4 throttle return springs. Drill some small holes in the grill in the 4 corners of the grill, fasten the springs to something solid behind the grill, and stretch the springs to hold the grill against the body. easy to put in place, easy to remove the grill. Has held my grill in place for the last 15 yrs.

A flat washer and s nut.
We also have an optional fastner system using a spring to create enough
tension to hold but allow it to float so it does not stress the grill and
crack them.

Interesting approach and I see Jim K offered the same solution. Will be going back to it today and have another look, maybe take some pics and go from there.
