It appears my A/C relay has died, probably when the blower motor shorted internally and melted a bunch of wiring! A trip to my FLAPS will probably end in frustration if I don't have a part number so does anyone have it handy?

While I'm on the subject, I see the cooling tube for the motor is long gone as well. I'm sure the original part is no longer available and most have come up with some sort of workaround. Please share.

TIA,
Ken H

AR-109 at NAPA or R365 O'reily per the interchange. Not sure if NAPA is still USA but cross it to CarQuest as last one I got there was USA.

Thanks, not sure if what I ordered before your response matches those numbers but it's for a 78 GMC pickup.

Ken,
When it comes to TZE, the catalog listing are abysmal. If they are listed at all, many only have an 1973 Transmode. I find this a particular chuckle as the records report that Transmodes were not marketed until 1975 and that is not listed.

Just one more good reason to hang around here and get good information.

And Jim Bounds has always been a great source of information including part numbers! If I had been thwarted in my search today, I would have called him tomorrow.

Generally if you are ordering parts you should specify a 1075 Olds Tornado with a 455 engine. Most 76 will also work but there were some very minor changes from 75 to 76.

78 pickups didn’t have a 455 engine.

Thanks Emory, and yes, anything related to engine/drivetrain I would specify Tornado but it seems that electrical components are often the same as GMC pickups.

How about the cooling tube? Has anyone come up with a creative solution?

Vist a junk yard and snag one. If wrong length ---you have the motor end and the air box end you can cut the middle and add or subtract length with plastic tube. They came in lots of lengths and molded curves on different years and models of GM vehicles.

FYI, We supply the exact part, not cheap, but it will work the first time.
