If your thinking that because your spouse becomes disabled. As happened to me. That your motor home/GMC days are over. And someone says that nothing can be done to keep you on the road. I had asked if our GMC door could be widened to 36 inches, from 29. I was told. NO. Can't be done. Never happen. So I asked. WHY? The answer that I got from the WHY was. Can't be done. That just makes me prove rhat it can be done. So. Never tell me no with out a real good reason with anything. And don't you ever let anyone tell you no. I learned in the Corp that nothings impossible if your determined. Be determined. Call me. I'll help you figure your travel issue out. Bob Dunahugh 319-521-4891.

I like your attitude, Bob, and am glad there's another one out there. I think when people tell us we can't do something, what they really mean is "I don't think I could do it, so I assume you can't either." I believe it's rooted in their own insecurities, and they don't want to think that someone else has greater determination or abilities than their own. The only people who ever tell me they don't think I can do something are the people who don't know me or my abilities though, so I'll take that as a good sign.

I'd love to see this 36" door. Do you have any pictures of the build process? I'm imagining building one from scratch, and having to run the vertical door pieces through a tube roller. Sounds like a lot of work. My second thought is cutting an original door right down the middle and adding straight pieces in the center to widen it. I think that's what I'd try. I'm curious which way you went.
