New items to help RVers rigs or to maintain them, shown at RV 2019

Also if you are looking for a BRIGHT flashlight, charges from 120vac adaptor or
USB plug, COBB LED technology. I have one and I sent a friend one because it
was a great spot light. It also has a LED light on the side to use at a table or
in a tent. Spot light is VERY Bright and sends a sharp beam across the field.

If you are looking for a rechargeable LED flood light I found this one to be pretty good. I bought several of them about 4 years ago and they are still going strong.

It has 3 levels of brightness and a flashing mode. Fairly wide flood light coverage. There are lots of these out there now of the same type.

Link to current model, I paid under $40.Cdn on sale

From the RV show video I found a few interesting things that the GMC had back 40 years ago. They should be able to bring the center of gravity of new trailers down further using the air suspension. I'm not sure why they want to build them so high these days.

The Never-Dump system doesn't seem very "Green". He stated it requires 1 gallon of propane to dispose of 2 gallons of black water. At least the GMC Thermosan (I believe it was called) system used waste exhaust heat from the engine to operate. The GMC system might work with the addition of a macerator which I don't believe was part of the OEM system.

Being an electronics guy for the past 45years, I was interested in the control systems. I'm also very weary of such systems (Can you say "No longer supported") So I heard him mention the RVIA RV-C communications network standard for RV's. So I did some Googling and found the industry website for RV-C developers. The specs and protocols are there for free downloading. Interestingly, most of the information and updates on there are 10yrs old +. Seems like it lost steam about 2010. I'm thinking it too will soon be "no longer supported".

Now the Virtual Reality stuff got me thinking. We could just put on our VR goggles and pick a destination and go driving our Virtual GMC! We could even have a random Virtual breakdown along the way Rolling Eyes . Then at night just remove the goggles and go sleep in our comfortable home bed and use our usual home washroom! Nice.

.

I remember reading and seeing some pics of the old Thermosan system.
The pump, of sorts, was a clear hose with a roller type system that sent small amounts of water and matter to the hot exhaust pipe. The roller/hose system was or is used in hospitals for various uses.
The Thermosan system would not operate until the vehicle was up to full operating temperatures, I believe it had a thermocouple that controlled this. Interesting system but I suppose it would have the EPA testing facilities throwing fits if we had it today.

I also thought about the 2 gal propane vs 5 gal sludge. It would eat up a lot of propane I think. Depends on how independant of the Dump Station you would like to be I guess.

I am always thinking, when I saw that, I was thinking it might be better to have a portable propane source for the poo burner so you are not using your propane for cooking and heating. Run out of Propane in the portable unit, you would go get the tank filled and the poo stays in storage till you turn the system back on. Not as world shaking as running out of propane when you are trying to heat the coach...

Ground clearance Bruce. If you have ever truly booned in rough terrain
ground clearance can become quite a concern.
