I actually thought I would stir up a major outpouring with this group. I'm
surprised. The formula for Slick 50 was changed when the original supplier
pulled out of the company but the Slick 50 marketing company continued to
use the previous formula's tests, approvals and certifications from groups
such as the FAA, DOT, Navy, Army thus leading to that FCC problem. It has
continued to be available thru its original source, under its original name
which was prior to and after the marketing name- Slick 50.



And I continue to use it in everything that has a motor, including my
toothbrush, with a degree of success reducing heat, wear and friction that
can not be denied.

Started using it in about 1975 in Enstrom Helicopter transmissions, airplane
engines, a Cadillac Diesel Seville with a converted Oldsmobile gas engine
(which continued to run like a champ over 400,000 miles by the way) as well
as hundreds of other things with motors and transmissions.



But enough of that. Happy to share individually, but don't need to try to
prove anything to anybody. Works for me.

Many years ago, I was involved in racing cars that were reworked to be much higher output than the manufacturer had ever guessed. We has lubrication trouble with everything. That was when I ran into Slick 50. As it happened, I was still a student and working part time at an Esso lab. I was telling the real scientists about this discovery, and they began laughing at me. I was then informed that it was a quart can of kind of heavy engine oil (it was not SAE 50) with about an ounce of colloidal MoS2 added to it. I asked how one might get the MoS2 colloid and was given a contact at a small company in Port Huron called Acheson Colloids. I made contact with them and was an irregular client for another 40 years. The last time was when I offered 1 pound bottles here. Since then, the friendly little Acheson Colloids was bought out by the Multi-National Mega-Corporation Henkle. I did not mind the large minimum order because they would do it in small bottles. Now the minimum order is twice the size and they shut down the small bottle line.

I am down to my last bottle and am researching what I can afford to do.

I am in the same group as you.
Used to see all the SLICK50 commercials, was impressed with all the hype and the taxis that were tested in NewYork, treated with SLICK50 then oil drained and ran around the city for 24 hours...
When I bought a 76 Caprice Classic, its low mileage 350 engine ran rough and no adjustments could smooth it out. Slick50 treatment was the cure. The temp dropped, started easier, just like the commecials.
-- I used to talk about SLICK50 at work and was laughed at by some, but others would ask questions. One fellow with an RV put the SLICK50 in his RV before he left on vacation. He literally watched the engine temperature lower as he drove.
The other fellow put it in his car. Months later he told me his wife drove the car home, oil light blazing on the dash with no oil. He refilled it with oil and it ran like nothing happened.

That was the original formula SLICK50. The company that bought SLICK50 changed the formula so it allegedly no longer met the specs nor could perform as the original formula did as the commercials (the old ones the orig company made and advertised) would show great results.

The original owner had to sue the new owner to stop using the orig commercials.

SLICK50 after the sale was sold by the original owner by a different name. Same original formula. I'd been able to find it for awhile but it has been absent from the sales scene for some years now. Becareful what you are buying or you may be getting the new formula SLICK50 instead of the original formula.
