I see on the Onan circuit card schematic that the internal contact on K1 (the solenoid) should go to pin 10 on the card to energize K3 while cranking and before the 'stay alive' windings develop enough power to hold K3 closed. On the last two sets I've looked at, the pin on the solenoid is empty and has Onan green overspray indicating it's never been used, with pin 10s wire simply hooked to the switched side of the solenoid. This would allow the use of a three connect K1 instead of a four, although those I've seen have a four. In that the K3 circuit is marginal under low voltage such as when the starter is engaged, I wonder if the pin 10 feed would do better where the schematic shows it. Testing will be performed.
