I don't want to break it. On a 73 Canyonland. I,m putting a fresh coat of the white SEM Sailcloth on all the plastic parts that are to be that color. I've got the cap over the drivers/pass seats done. Pulled the LP tank to blast/paint. And lined the LP tank compartment with white aluminum today. Really looks great with the white around the gray tank. Taking a brake from the bottom side. Bob Dunahugh

Bob,

That 46+ year old plastic is virtually impossible to remove without
breaking it. The aluminum longitudinal member has a groove along its top
and bottom sides, on each side of the wiring chase. The molding wraps
around the top and bottom sides into flanges which fit into those two
grooves. To remove the molding one of the flanges must be lifted out of
its groove. That movement, if you can figure out how to initiate it,
flexes the face of the molding between the flanges. At its age,
essentially all of the plasticizer has migrated out into the atmosphere,
leaving behind only egg shell. Good luck. (Reinstalling it requires
re-flexing the face, generally completing the fracture.)

There's supposedly a Panduit(?) conduit which substitutes pretty well, if
you can find it.

Time for you to devise a good substitute for everyone. :-)

Yes the Panduit one works great. Graybar stocks it and it is not expensive. I suppose you now want the part number. I'll see if I can find it. I used some on Dan Gregg's coach a couple of years ago just before Terry sold it.

Bob, When I removed the strip in my Avion, I slid it forward when the front cap was down. Stuff is brittle. I would look for the Panduit cover.

Bob, A PO had installed a piece of wood trim stained to match the rest of the woodwork in the coach. Its just held in place with 3 self tapping screws. Looks very nice, well to me anyway.

Panduit number for 6ft. white is C3WH6. There are colors but I don't remember what they are. I just put some up and I'm happy with it.

Not a problem. I don't get to help very often so I have to be quick.
I've got it saved to my phone because everyone suggests it but they usually don't have the number handy.
