I've worked on lots of Onans over the years. But have no experience with the ones in our GMC's. In 15 years. Never had any problems. I put the Onan from the burned GMC. In the GMC we use now. This Onan is the one I took out of the GMC we use now. It's now on my engine stand. Since I've replaced every electrical switch in the entire coach. I'm thinking that it's probably the start switch on the engine itself. Any other common problems? I'm going to be selling it after I get it properly serviced. So I'm going to clean out the carbon on the pistons, and heads. Points, condenser, spark plugs, carb kit, fuel pump, engine oil/air filters, remove all shrouds to properly clean engine, generator, and put new brushes in the generator. Bob Dunahugh

If it turns over using the remote switch but not the local one, the switch is fubar. I've been unable to find the rocker switches at any reasonable price, but the same switch with a spring loaded bat handle works fine. If you don't have a remote panel, jumping terminals 1 and 3 ought to make it crank over.
