About 10 or 12 years ago I loaned it to someone in Michigan. He returned it by mail. Not long after that I loaned it to someone else who stopped by my hangar. I do not remember if that party ever returned it or not. All I know is I now need it and I can not find it.

Ken,

I can sympathize with you. Some years ago, I loaned out my Kent-Moore bogie
bushing reamer. I didn't pay attention to who got it
because it had always come back. This time it didn't.

I try to avoid the 'chain - loan' if I can, and do a lot of email. That said, Larry Davick had a great set of A-6 tools.

Gary,

It may be worst than that in my case. I do not know if it came back and I lost it, or if it never came back and is still out there somewhere.

Both good reasons to have a tool sign out list in your shop ( or just to
not loan tools). Not that anyone would likely keep the tool on purpose but
folks not in the repair industry cannot appreciate the hassle of looking
for a tool when a job is waiting and probably put the borrowed tool โ€œ in a
spotโ€ and then promptly forget about it.

After loaning out special tools and not getting them back, we never let a
tool out without a healthy refundable charge.
When they complain, I just flat tell them to go else where.
Half of the time it comes back damaged, but we get it back and refund the
deposit.

Ken, I'll send you mine. Just don't forget where you got it. :-)
Should be there in 3 days.

btw, I've been loaning out a Bearing Puller donated by Alex Ferrara and a
torsion bar unloader donated by Larry Weidner for 2 or 3 years now. All
information on the borrower is posted to a special tool specific calendar.
Never had a problem getting them back. (knock on wood) :-)

I'd forgotten about that little kit, I wonder where it is!

Hey Gary ,

You gave it to me in 2008 , I used it a couple of times and at a rally in 2009 Blaine Merrill suggested he could make some so I sent it to him and he
received it on Tuesday , Nov. 09, 2010 . I'll send you the corresponding emails.

Albert,

Yes, Blaine returned it at a GMCMI gathering and someone else immediately
borrowed it. I didn't worry at the time because GMCers
have always been so good about returning things. But, this
time,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Oh well!

Currently when I think back 10 years it is actually 15-20. So 5 years
memory actually equals 10 years calendar. At least for me. Good thing they
