Well it happened, 28 miles from Bean Station and the air cleaner was full of oil, actually bogged down the motor. Was towed into Bean Station. ..not a good feeling seeing how the engine was replaced 10 months ago and had less than 5100 miles on it...Glad it's under warranty
We are very grateful to Mary and Al for allowing us to leave the coach there until it could be towed to a Okeechobee Florida.
Very thankful to ALL the dixielanders for their support...
Want to do a SHOUT OUT to Dave Friend Trucking out of Indiana, folks take his number, if you ever ned a long distance tow, he has a drop down trailer for our GMC and he is a great guy with a Great towing rate....I tried 5 load brokers to no avail...his number is 765-438-4616 ..

I was in the ratty looking Palm Beach that was parked next to your good looking GMC. It's a real shame that you had engine problems, but at least you didn't miss out on the good time we all had at the last Bean Station rally.
We will keep Dave Friend Trucking in mind.

SWo sorry to hear. The black and gold one under the carport is mine, the Samsels were kind enough to let me leave it till this friday - I've a show in Gray and it made little sense to drive it home to GA and then right back.

Had this scenario before on a small-block Ford rebuild after a few hundred miles...excessive blowby resulting from a broken piston ring. No explanation in the bore and a new set of rings on that piston solved the problem indefinitely.

After 3 weeks finally found out about my blown (10 month old rebuild with less than 6k miles) 403 engine.. As suspected from a few folks at Bean Station, the #5 piston was missing about 1 to 1 1/2" inches gping down from the top on one side. Now I know why oil blowback and lots of oil up in air cleaner. Also was told the top of motor was pretty white from heat? Don't know why this woulb happen never ran above 62- 63 mph.
Your thoughts on how or why this could happen is appreciated other than a 40 yo coach

Maybe the white was caused by a lean fuel mixture from a vacuum leak?
