G'day,
As requested by Gene Fisher here's a quick rundown on what happened at Bean Station.
I have had an inguinal hernia for years; a surgeon in Sydney told me there was no reason to undergo surgery unless it "played up."
At Bean Station a small section of small intestine popped out and got strangulated requiring the hospital visit. They diagnosed the
problem quickly and when the ER doctor came in and poked around I felt something "pop" down in my groin.
When the surgeon arrived he noted that he couldn't feel the hernia and when I told him what I felt when the ER doctor had "poked
around" he told me the hernia probably popped back in which negated the necessity for emergency surgery. He showed me how to pop it
back in myself and said I could go home. I elected to spend the night which turned out to be a good idea as I had a couple of
"technicolor yawns" which would have ruined John Sharpe's sleep. He also noted that if it didn't "play up" while I was in Houston I
could postpone repair until I get back to Sydney.
I'm now back in Houston taking it easy to allow my guts to return to normal and determining if I'll have to get it fixed here or can
wait until I get home.
I'm feeling better daily.

Good point!
I trust the Aussie surgeon will use some high quality mesh, however, I'll verify that the surgeon doesn't use mesh from Hospital
Freight! :-)

Rob,
If your surgeon goes for the "Hospital Freight" mesh, make sure he pops for the extended warranty!
I still feel bad that your work on my GMC's brakes preceded your visit to the local ER and subsequent hospital overnight.
I had just finished taking a shower when Ken Henderson came to my door and said you were on your way to the ER, but were more worried about me taking a test drive without the cover to my master cylinder than you did with how you were feeling.
My new 80 MM calipers work great! Thanks for all you did helping this shade tree mechanic with his GMC.

Only took us two days to replace foru rear shocks. Including grinding off three sleeves, cutting one broken mount off, and figuring how to compress them. It looks as if the bulk of my concerns waqs/is missing bushings and a broken mount. I think the KYBs themselves still work. I'll hold them in abeyance. And if it hadn't been for Whatsisname coaching us, we'd likely of never got the dam' things off without damage to ourselves or the coaches.
