Alert residents of Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan

Craig Lechowicz has purchased a coach in Texas and is trying to drive it back to Michigan.

It is no surprise that it is not as driveable as he was given to believe.

Currently he is struggling with a failed serpentine water pump sheave, but there are other things as well.

All I ask is that you be aware that he may be coming through on the way.

Matt

Warren,

He has a core engine in his garage at home in Waterford.
There is the issue that he has to cover about 1200 miles to be in striking range.
At about 800 miles, he will be in striking range of Blain. That would be good.

G'day,

I have two serpentine systems at my storage facility in Huffman, Texas. One was made by JR Slaten, the second by Gary Kosier.

I just called Craig and left him a voicemail advising same.

And people ask,"What is so great about your GMC?"
And I try to tell them, it isn't just the coach, it is the community it brings to you......

What Craig most needs to know right now is: "What was the source of the
water pump pulley used on Leigh Harrison's serpentine system?"I

I also have 2 New Heavy Duty large impeller pumps here. One NAPA and one Cardone. I'm leaving for BS on Wednesday early (I hope). I'll leave one pump here with Laurie in case he needs one. Whomever calls will have to explain to Laurie that they want one.

Blaine was working on a Serpentine belt system. I do not know if he ever installed it. He might have the part he needs.

I hooked Craig up with Chuck Peck of Manchaca, Texas this afternoon. Chuck
is currently in McAllen for work but will arrive at Bergstrom Airport at
9:10 in the morning. He will drive 50 miles straight to New Braunfels to
pick up Craig. They will then drive back to Chucks place in Manchaca where
they will search the piles and boxes of parts just purchased from Michael
Bozardt a couple a weeks ago, including Mike's ol Edgemonte which will have
all the remaining parts needed to get Craig mobile. Plan is for Craig to
then use Chucks drive and shop for the remaining work required to
successfully make the trip home to MI.

Chuck and his wife, Rhonda, are new GMCers who bought Chuck Botts' very nice
'73 23' from San Diego. They're making a terrific GMCers and will be on the
Black List on its next update.

Craig is in good hands.

Question: Will the power steering pulley from a 472 Cadillac fit our pump?

If needed, I removed a Leigh Harrison serpentine belt system from my coach last year. All the parts are sitting in a box in my garage. All pullies, a nearly new delco HD fan clutch, 2 reverse flow water pumps included. Be happy to find a good use for theseparts, as I did not want to sell the system. I do not feel the system is well designed for our coach's accessory layout, and don't want to pass those issues on to a new owner.

But helping someone make it home would be a perfect use of the parts.

I'm off of I20 near Fort Worth.

Here is a photo Craig posted on Facebook of the offending Water Pump Sheave. He has since been able to replace that serpentine belt kit with the old original sheaves and v-belts.

Multiport fuel injection wasn't working right so it now has a quadrajet installed with an air cleaner that fits in spite of the remaining fuel rails.
