The FMCA Verizon Jetpack offer (Jetpack hot spot for 1 penny, unlimited data and free shipping for $49.99/month) seemed at first glance to be a good deal for internet access while traveling. I have been using my Verizon iPhone as a hot spot and that has worked well, but the data plan is a bit pricey. The FMCA deal seemed like it would be good for us and end up possibly lowering our monthly bill and end our worry about going over our data allowance.
Anyway, signing up has so far been a nightmare. FMCA has been helpful, but dealing with Verizon's website, not so much. I've spoken with and chatted with numerous people at Verizon who either don't have a clue, or do, but can't explain the pricing that shows up on the website.
Anyway, I was told by a guy at Verizon (who is the FMCA deal specialist) to just get the Jetpack which is supposed to cost $.01 and if not they would fix the bill for me and make sure it all works out. I have everything documented with screen shots, emails etc. and names of contacts. So we shall see.
I don't feel real bad if it works, except for the aggravation (3 days so far of fooling with the website, calls and emails) because I am sure FMCA will stand behind me on this thing if things go bad with trying to get my bill fixed.
I am wondering if anyone has had issues signing up for this benefit? FMCA said 90% of people that sign up have had no issues.

Richard,
I have been using one since the end of Dec. No problems signing up and have
been having great luck with it so far. Used the link on FMCAsite to get to
Verizon and went from there. Picked out the device wanted and was shipped
promptly. All good here.

read here: https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/fmca-verizon-unlimited-data-plan/
looks like it's no longer unlimited but capped at 25gb
According to the FMCA FAQ on the plan:
"Is there a there is a "data threshold?
Yes, you will see decreased speeds upon 25GB of usage in a given billing cycle. Slowdown speeds will range between 70 kbps 2.7 mbps. Normal 4G LTE speeds will resume at the beginning of the new billing cycle."
For use while traveling, I can live with that.

It's not bad.
But if you're an existing Verizon customer for 20/month you can get 15 gb throttled. Not that big of a difference to justify the cost imho.
We use unlimitedville and go through 200+gigs per month without any throttling. (we use a hotspot for primary internet for our home and business) it's 99-250/month depending on what carrier.
I was just hoping maybe the fmca would save me some cash.

Justin, since you plan to do a lot of boon-docking, this may not work for you. Take a look at this review of the FMCA Sprint unlimited offer. Just another choice.
