As Im located in Sweden we use km/h instead of miles. Looking for a replacement from a car that was originally put together for the European market will be easier if I can start looking for units that fits in another car as well. Did GM use the same speedometers in more cars/trucks other than the Mobile home?
Thanks!

You might try to locate a speedometer from a 78 GMC. They have both mph and
kph on the dial.

Here in Canada, one option that usd to be offered by the FEDS when importing vehicles calibrated for MPH was to put transparent decals on the speedo with the corresponding KM/hr values. It was ugly but functional and was an easy method of complying with the regulations. Most of us just peeled the fugly decals off once the vehicle passed inspection.

You could get a GPS speedometer in kms/hour from a US company called Speedhut. Very simple installation. I've been using one now for a couple of years and as a bonus they are absolutely accurate. I'm just not sure if the size will match the original dash - my dash is not original.

Technically speaking the GMC speedometer dash gauge is based on the 70-72 Olds Cutlass. There are numerous restoration replacements for those vehicles and you might even find one calibrated in kilometers.

Get a speedometer from a car or coch coach that came to the Canadian market. All coaches and cars here after 1976 had to have their primary indicator in kilometres per hour.

If you wish to import one into Sweden, p.m. me with International Address.
I have a properly marked OEM speedometer in my parts collection. Might be a minor hassle, but yours for the price of postage.
Paying it forward.
