Very good point, Tom.
Skip Newhouse and his wife Barbara were long time members of GMCMI. They ran several community food drives especially in their hometown of Hagerstown, MD.
They both participated in about every GMCMI National Convention with seminars, crafts, etc.
Skip passed away in October 2004. At the next Convention at Ft. Meyers, FL, I started the Skip Newhouse Memorial Food Drive.
For several years we collected a lot of food for the communities where we held our conventions.
However, over the years the memory of Skip has faded and the food drive is now just called the “food drive”. Many of the older members have likely forgotten about Skip and the newer members have no idea who he was.
Its sad to think that the day will come when we all will be forgotten.
