Ken,
Some time ago I recall you answered a post regarding the Rostra cruise control and advised not to wire the cruise to the brake light wiring but wire a different way. Sorry I am not real sure on the advise you gave but I do recall it would cure the problem I see when I have my trailer lights connected to the GMC. The problem I have is when I have the cruise engaged, and the exterior lights on, the cruise disconnects when I turn the turn signal on.
Do you recall this?

Some of you that have a modern CC such as the All Electric rostra Unit should be aware that the CC uses the filament in the stop Lites to
connect to a chassis ground. This is a safety feature so that the CC is not allowed to operate or be turned on if the Brake Lite switch activates
the stop lites. Upon installation of LED type brake lites, the connection to chassis ground is no longer available thru the LED (no filament element). Therefore, if you install LED type Brake Lites & have a rostra CC, the CC will not activate since the Brake Lite filament ground connection will not exist. But there is better to connect the All Electric rostra CC such that the Brake Lite is not in the circuit. Remove the Violet wire from the cold side of the Brake Switch & connect it to ground thru the Original CC Electric Dump switch (normally closed switch & is located on the top end of the brake switch with a Pink & a Brown wire connection). Cut the Pink & Brown wire from the Dump Switch. Connect the end of one of the Dump switch wires to a good chassis ground & connect the Violet wire to the other Dump Switch wire. That is all there is to it & everyone that has an All Electric CC should consider use of the Dump Switch in lieu of the Cold Side of the Brake Lite switch as stated in the CC installation book. This modification will minimize the CC drop outs that occur when the turn signal is activated. duane

That is what I did a few years ago, before I had LED tail lights. I had also forgotten how I did it and it is good for me the info has been posted again. I am in the process of documenting all of the many changes (from the OEM configuration) that I have made over the past 19 years. I can no longer remember exactly what I did back in the 90's, 2000's or what I had for lunch last Tuesday.
