My friend, Carroll Shelley, is needing a new inner boot for his one ton front
end. His was damaged in shipping and his patch has failed. He called Manny
about it but he doesn't know a number for it. Only way he can send one is on a
new axle. Local parts houses are no help.

Does anyone know of a part number for that boot, or a usable work-around?

Thanks in advance
bdub

Billy,

Right off of a spare Manny axle: Interparts BT-257.

Here's a URL for Interparts' applications manual, a Ctrl-F there for BT-257
will show lots of applications, such as: Chevrolet 2002-2004 Avalanche
1500 Outboard L & R (as well as Escalades, Dodges, and even a Land Rover):

www.interparts.com/pdf/application-cvjoint.pdf

Under that application, they're shown here:
http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/chevrolet,2004,avalanche+1500,5.3l+v8,
1423886,drivetrain,cv+joint+boot,2284
for $11.50 to $21.79 each

HTH,

Ken H.
