Our beloved 77 Eleganza has a new home in Northern Wisconsin. The new owner flew in Tuesday afternoon and we spent Wednesday going over things and loading all the 'stuff'. He headed north in the rain from tropical storm Cindy and made it in two days.
It looks so odd to not see her sitting on the parking pad...

I still have my first GMC, a 76 Eleganza, that I purchased in order to build a car hauler for my art deco roadster. It will have a Caddy engine and, if things work out, the rear wheels will BOTH be on TRAILING arms. I need go get the interior width as wide as possible so I'm going to do some 'stuff'. If I can find a reasonable 1 ton 4WD chevy front frame with the tranny and transfer case, I may try and engineer a whole new front subframe. Big 4 wheel drive trucks are not that common down south. The engine is currently at Beavers Engines in Americus waiting to be run in. I'll pick it up this summer and hope to build the front subframe/suspension on my welding table.
Here is a couple photos of what the car hauler will look like:

I'll build a whole new front body and use the existing ribs and spars with some additional framing below the beltline to get the shape of the tanker. Not sure if the back will fold down and become a ramp or lift up.
When the car's not in the hauler, it will have a fold down bed and kitchen and bath like areas.

Maybe you'll have time to finish the bottom half of Monique, too.
