Hello,
I am in desperate need of a good front alignment shop in the Staunton area. Probably no further that 100 miles south of here.
ANY help would be great!
Thanks, Scott.

Scott,
Thanks for reminding me: I forgot to send Rick Denney the bill for the
alignment jigs I mailed to him a couple of days ago -- to Lovettsville,
VA. Since I can't find a Staunton, TX, I'm assuming you're in Staunton, VA
right now.
Maybe you and he should get together to align both of your coaches. You'd
undoubtedly do a better job than you'd get from any commercial alignment
shop. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, download and study
the alignment presentations available here:

Might not work, Ken. Staunton is well over a hundred miles from where we
are in Virginia, but we are actually in Houston.

I was sort of baffled by Scott's Houston address when he was concerned
about alignment in VA. I figured 132 miles wasn't much over his requested
100 miles, even if in the wrong direction. No idea about any scheduling
difficulties.

Staunton is up I81, about 80 or so miles north of Roanoke. About 30 miles north of my alma mater in Lexington VA. None of this is helpful unless someone knows of a shop on the I81 corridor, which is probably the best way to think about this problem...

We've communicated with a friend of ours in Waynesboro to identify a shop
but have not heard back. If we do, I'll post it in this thread.

Speak to John Anderson at Reed's Automotive in Roanoke. Tell him I told you to ask him if they could do it following the Forum instructions. He may or may not be able to get a straight run into his shop.

Problem solved!
Rob,
90% of the problem was due to over tightening of the new relay lever. It was REALLY cranked on........... 800 miles of not knowing when my number was going to be called, worst driving experience ever..
when at the alignment station, after the front was in the air, it took both the tech and me to grab the tire and try to turn it. And a 6 foot 3/4" breaker bar to break the relay lever bolt free.
The alignment at the time wasn't too far off, but he still tweaked it a little to 2.5 caster, straight up camber, and zero toe.
WHAT A MAJOR DIFFERENCE!!!! And what a pleasure the 350 miles I drove today were! Even Sydney seemed nicer!!
If anyone is ever in the Verona Virginia area, and needs anything gmc suspension, front end, boogies, alignments, etc, call them. My total bill was $85.
Central tire
228 Lee hwy.
Verona, va. 24482
The tech is named Frank, and I was very pleased!!
And thanks all, scott.

Glad it worked for you and thanks for the reference. I'm in Dublin VA 24084 I81 m98. I've been to several techs. I like Ken Frye in Quakertown PA. Just got home from there. THE BACK WHEELS FOLLOW THE FRONT WHEELS. Yeah! Thank you Ken. I used to drive with white knuckles. It doesn't drive true yet, but I hope it will.

It steers PERFECT. Ken had installed cut-off valves on the rear bags and I didn't open them. When I did, the air system leveled the coach and I am so happy I could just...smile real wide.

Sandra,
We ended up bypassing Charlotte by about 60 miles. Ended up going via Columbia to get BBQ at Maurice's piggy BBQ.
We did stay about 3 nights in Charleston. That whole area near the Carolinas is very pretty, you can't go wrong with any of it.
I wish I did go through Charlotte, but that will be another trip. Brewpubs and a MacDash!!
Are you and Bob going to the rally in Livingston next month?
Let me know if I can give you any more info.
Scott.
