I was contacted by an owner in California. He has a most unique '77 or '78 GMC and is not planning on doing work on it. He would like to sell it. I am posting because this is quite a different approach to stretching a GMC. Six feet! In the middle!

He says it runs and the air bags stay up for a couple of days. There were the days when I took the time to build pretty websites. This isn't one of those times. Now I am too lazy.

Here are some pictures: http://graestone.org/GMC/Stretch/

If you wanted to talk to him, give advice or purchase: Bruce bmello9 at gmail dot com

'74 Eleganza, SE, Howell + EBL
Best Wishes,
George

That looks like the coach that was abandoned in Monterey that was on the Facebook list back in January

I'm sorry but that thing is hideous. the 'craftsmanship' is terrible, I would not want to see how the frame was patched together.

If you want to see properly done body mads, have a look at Hal StClair's Eagle bus. There ought to be a picture of it someplace.

As the owner of a stretch coach (Buskirk Stretch) The coach is so badly butchered that its worth is depending on who would haul and take of the good stuff off the chassis and body and front clip assemblies. Other than that it is a $500 special depending on tow charges.

I saw that thing on the FB site a few months ago and refrained from commenting. It amazes me that someone who apparently had the skills and tools to slice the body and frame apart, had so little comprehension of how to bend the metal to fill the gap. There is no shape (think 3 dimensions), only simple rolls. Given the state of the body, I'd really question the quality that the frame stretch was done.

Like JR said, pull any good bits off and scrap the rest. That said, it will have to be gutted and all wood removed before even the scrap yards will take it.

To Michael Beaton:
The Greenberg coach is in auction.
And I may be interested in rescuing it if I can get enough info on it.
Can you help w/ last known condition and or last known owner?
Thanks,
