Is it possible to get a drop or two of oil in the OEM Coleman Mark IV fan shaft bearings without climbing on the roof and/or dismantling a lot of stuff?

Last time I ran it, the compressor came on but the fan just hummed. So I turned it off. Took down the interior plastic faceplate/duct assembly and turned it on again, reached up and gave the fan a little push, and all was well.

I can see that happening again every time it sits for more than a day or week or month or winter or...

All it needs is a drop or two of oil to get ? more seasons of use out of it. In the Alabama August heat/sun it keeps the interior plenty cool, and the compressor cycles because it is not really having to work that hard to do it.

The motor probably has e small hole in each end plate where it needs to be oiled but seldom is done. Check the motor shaft for any vertical movement if there is any up and down movement the motor bushing is worn out and you would need to replace the motor as I doubt you would find a new bushing. All this needs to be done on the roof.

Next time you're here, I'll send you up on the roof with a screwdriver.

I'm not afraid of falling either. Its the sudden stop at the end that hurts.
