Hi.
I am going to be attempting to make a template to get new glass cut for my rear window. Anyone have any tips for doing this so I don't have to get two or three pieces of glass cut? Hah! I have the rear window rubber seal and I'm going to attempt to place it on the body and then get a proper measurement. Does the window sit inside this? I have never messed with a complete window or seen one in so I'm kind of going into this blind.
What % tint should I tell the shop to match the other windows?

Thanks for the help!

Id give the guy/gal at the local glass shop an extra $25.00 to come out and measure with the gasket. Something that big I would not want to mess up. He/she may give you a deal on installing it as well. Better done correctly the first time.

Why don"t you make one out of Masonite or something like that. When you get it trimmed exactly the way that you want it, take it to a glass shop and get it duplicated in glass.

G'day,

I arrive in Houston on March 14th. If you can wait a bit I have a rear

Rob, I believe part of the question was 'where does the installed window seat?'. Inside the gasket is the answer to only that part of the question. Shipping that big piece of glass ought to be fun.
See you in Shawnee.

Rob that would be great to get a template made out of an actual back glass. Let me know when you are back and can do it. Thanks!
