I have a vacuum pump that I picked up at the last GMCMI event in Ohio. Were are people mounting them. Just don't tell me the best location is were I just put my remote air filter. That project came out great. Bob Dunahugh 78 Royale

No pics yet, but I mounted the GM pump on a steel plate and bolted it to the top of the crossmember in front of the radiator, at the drivers side. Makes for a short hose to the reservoir clamped to that crossmember.

Just a word of caution. My coach had a non-working vacuum pump. The enclosed electronics board was thoroughly corroded. The pump was mounted next to the wiper motor and apparently water leaking from the top of the hood caused the damage. I mounted the new pump above the dripline.

BTW the vacuum switch (purchased from Summit) didn't work properly. Neither did the replacement. Finally I purchased an adjustable switch on ebay.

You did not say which pump you have in hand, but I mounted my JC4 vacuum pump on Ken's wonderful electric wiper mount. Fit like it was designed for that location.
