A special notice to Michigan people:

MDOT is closing southbound I-75 very specifically at the bridge over the River Rouge.
There will be other closings as well such that avoiding I-75 from Detroit south is the best idea.
It is suggested that you take I-275 south to avoid this.

Or, as an alternative to I-275 south from the northern suburbs, M39 south (the Southfield Expressway).

Richard,

That still leaves you north of the closed I-75. Unless you take I-94 West to I-275, and that takes you past the airport.....

You could take Southfield (M39) south to Dix then Dix south to Norhline or Eureka to I-75 or just stay on Dix until it meets up with I-75 near Sibley. That will probably be quicker than going out to I-275.
