Hi all,
For those who do not look at the Facebook pages, there was a Youtube video published:
Anchorman 2- hilarious RV scene
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUEDVMOMY24
I did not know that movie, never made it here in the Netherlands, I think ...
But it must be a very recent movie, so that GMC was already at least around 35-40 years old.
But by analysing it, slowmotion, you can see they did a lot to reinforce and make it safe.
No propanetank or gastanks anymore, steelbars/rollover protection installed, and a heavy subframe attached to the frame in the middle, I think were the flip-over piston has to hit the GMC ...
In the inside they did quite a job, look at the floor and cushions etc ...
Just wanted to share with you.
Seeing this I thought why not SOB ... its a pitty ...

I think maybe 3 were used in the shoot. One for interior shots and perhaps 2 for rollover shoot. Going from memory.

A shame to see any GMC get wrecked, even if they rolled over stripped repainted shells. But I do have to say the scenes from inside with the bowling balls, scorpions, hot grease, etc. are hilarious. Maybe I just have a bad sense of humor.

Ray,
Don't disagree with but then; "there's no such thing as bad publicity" and
in this case I agree. The fact that the GMC survived the rollover and didn't
break into a million pieces showed just how tough they are!
And it was funny.
