There has to be someone. The 307 appears to be a very close match. The Edelbrock 2711, and 3711 are just under a 1/2 inch taller. But Mondelo's shop says the two Edelbrock manifolds work perfectly. Maybe I'm making a mountain out of a moll hill.

Bob,

My 455 had a Performer (2711?) on it when I bought it. It required a 3"
raised hatch to provide air cleaner clearance. I don't believe the 403 is
THAT much lower. I removed the Performer at the first opportunity so I
could reach my seat easily. Also, the "Mondello" you're talking to is NOT
Joe, whom I'd have believed. Ain't sayin' no more 'bout that.

If you DO use the Performer, don't let Edelbrock talk you into using their
crossover plugs:

With the GM TB on my 455, I had to use a snorkel (with riser), and then
make a dome of the aluminum cap over the hole in the hatch cover, in which
I cut an exit route for the snorkel and hose. The dome is probably 3/4"
high at its peak, so it isn't very obtrusive; you can probably

I replaced my cracked cast intake with an Edelbrock on my 77 Palm Beach 403 about 10 years ago. The engine hatch already had routed relief for the air cleaner which I assumed was stock. Although the air cleaner is close, I don't see any evidence that its contacting the hatch. I can only assume my engine mounts are original and I know the body mounts have not been updated.

I did notice that the engine is cold blooded with the aluminum intake and the heat riser blocked off. Other than that, the intake works fine.

You need to consider the body pads.
They can easily make 1/4 -3/8 inch clearance.
All of our customers that replaced the 40 year old pads noticed the
additional clearance.
