I would like to add an aux evaporator, however, I am limited in width due to the old style glove box and the level controllers. I noticed (from the photo site) the later models had a fixed lower panel and an upper hinged door. This would allow the use of a wider evaporator, and not interfere with existing glove box.
Has anyone ever "upgraded" to the newer style, is it even possible without major modification?

I assume you have this style.

My early 73 would have had the first style but it now has the second style.

From what I have read, some coaches had the glove box refitted in the field, a recall of sorts. That is said to be why many of us have no glove box sticker.
So -- I would think retro fitting yours should not be a major challenge, once you locate the parts.
