Been using the furnace for almost 2 weeks and it is now moving substantially more warm air to all vents. The first night it stopped heating as I think we hit thermal safety. In recent years motor, board and gas valve were replaced. RPM seems same on motor in both cases. Is there a flat on the motor shaft for squirrel cage set screw or could my indoor blower wheel been slipping? Also can/should the motors be oiled? Thanks

Check to make sure you have an unobstructed path for the return air or make
up air. Lack of free flowing make up air can cause the furnace to overload.
Make sure the cabinet the furnace is in is not too air tight and nothing is
laying on the return air grill in furnace body.

Both outside and inside airflow has increased. Maybe the motor was tight from lack of use? Was on shore power in all cases.

What is the diameter of your ducting?

John,
As for trying to make the Solaire Furnace work, parts are very hard to find, if not impossible. When I checked on Ebay I got 2 results for insect screens.
I had a number of sol-aire parts 2 years ago and I could not give them away. I had one board, several wire sets for the igniter and 3 new ignitors. They laid on my sales table marked free and no one every touched them. My HPO is that you need to consider upgrading to a suburban furnace and there are several that will fit without mods and some models with slight modification. Unless you can assure yourself that the firebox does not have a leaks and you can find parts it is a study in frustration.
Suburban furnace installations:

Be sure and have full 12 VDC+ at the furnace, if not you can have problems of the furnace trying to start and run.

I hucked my solaire furnace and found a much later model suburban 30k btu
on Craigslist for $250. The amount of work involved in accessing the
solaire (if it's buried in the kitchen cabinet like mine was) is not worth
the trouble of trial and error repair attempts. I did have to modify the
exterior for the suburban but now if there is an issue the whole thing can
be slid out the side of the coach w/o dismantling of the kitchen cabinet.
And I don't stress about gassing myself while I sleep which is priceless.

I can probably grab that furnace on my way down/back from SoCal. I leave
tomorrow from Seattle and will be back in Seattle next Tuesday night. I
don't need it but if someone along the way does I may be able to help. How
old is it/ model #?

The stock solaire ducting is smaller than the recommended ducting for the
suburban. Iirc the larger original solaire ducts in my coach were 3.5 inch
and 2.5 inch. The suburban installation manual stated 4" as minimum. I
removed the holey mouse house infested smaller ductwork and replaced it
with all 4" and deleted the smaller bath module only duct and aux pusher
fan. The suburban model I installed is the SF-30. I don't know if you have
the installation manual for the model you have but there are a few very
useful bits of information in it as far as air movement and duct sizing.
Your mention of the furnace shutting off and your thoughts that the thermal
switch was the reason made me recall my installation and the ducting
requirements of my furnace. One of the reasons they gave for the duct
requirement was prevention of over heating of the furnace.
