At the request of the daylight driver (Mary), I got a Digi-Panel. (It has been demonstrated that her vision just does not handle instrument sweeps.)
She would like it on top of the instrument hump. (Ugly Maybe, but I really don't care.)
I am worried that it will be too much light too high for night driving. (I do all the night driving.)
Does anybody have such an installation?
Is it successful?

If it's too bright at night, you could add a box with a tinted plastic face on the front to dim the light levels.

I have my Digipanel installed where you are thinking of mounting yours;
have mine there since 2001; never found the lights to be a bother with
night driving.

Matt,
I have my digipanel installed on the top of the instrument panel. Drove all the way home from Ohio in the dark and the lights did not bug me at all.
Great meeting you guys finally. Looking forward to the next one.

Mine is on top of the dash pad in the center of the instrument panel. Lights don't bother me at all.

A great place is under the brow of the dash above the Heating A/C control
panel using a velcro tape.

Mine is mounted on the slanted surface underneath the radio (body of
Digipanel is parallel to leg with foot on gas pedal). Digipanel lights face
is angled upward toward driver. The bright lights at night are easy enough
to see peripherally or from a quick sweep (particularly at night).
Best part is that at night, the lights become a somewhat dimmed HUD on an
unobtrusive area of the windshield. This HUD effect was accidental in the
install plan but has been very useful.
