Sorry for the spammy incomplete post, here is the rest of the story.
Over the past few weeks I have been working on an idea I had to mount and
seal my clearance lights.
About two years ago I installed LED rear clearance lights and I had a few problems with them.
problems with the lights that I found.
1. The rubber wellnuts pulled up into the foam gaskets and the lights eventually became loose and leaked.
2. I bought one wire lights that grounded through one of the screws and contact with the ground wire under the light was inconsistant.
3. Rain, lots of rain in the Pacific Northwest.
I decided to try permanently mounting a 1/4" aluminum plate using nutserts and grounding that plate, that way water could get under the light and not into the coach. Here are some pictures from the project.

I hand cut the and formed the blades using a jig saw and an assortment of files. I drilled all of the holes on a small drill press. They mounted tight and it looks like they will work as expected. When I go to do the front lights I will go to a friends machine shop and have him water cut me a set of plates to save about 5 hours.
