To continue the weekly saga, this weekend was fuel pump replacement. The one that was on it leaked like crazy, and judging by the metallic blue paint on it could be the original. Really wish this had been evident while the radiator was out, wasn't particularly fun to change on the ground. More accurately, tires sunk two inches into the ground.
Bypassed the battery isolator to see if the generator lamp would go out. Still comes on, but not as bright. A future issue to deal with. Had to run to the local Walm@rt for another battery as the one I've been using was run down. Brought a charger with me, but the seller wasn't home so no access to electricity, and didn't want to wait another week since it was ready to start!
New battery in, started up fine. Good oil pressure, temp gauge got to about 1/4 gauge. Checked the trans fluid, was a little low which I'd expected since I had the cooler lines off, and the rubber section of what was on there was pretty wet. Now it's all metal.
Now that it's running and fluids are in good shape, time for the acid test. Checked that the parking brake was off, air ride set to travel and up, blocks out from under the bogey housings. Put it in drive, released the brake, and gave it some throttle. Nothing. A little more, still nothing. Then the right wheel starts spinning, thank goodness it works! Had to rock it quite a bit to get it freed from the 6 two inch holes the tires had sunk into. Couldn't move it much, there was a car parked behind it and obstacles ahead that need to be moved but it finally moved under it's own power, even if only two feet.
I'm sure the condition of the tires didn't help at all. They're all old, one rear is flat, and the fronts are almost bald. I only have to drive it a little over 100 miles to get it home, but even if I put the spare on trying it on those tires doesn't inspire much confidence. I've been keeping my eyes on Craigslist for a set of 16" dually rims and tires, a set of less-used tires being a vast improvement on what's there.
But it runs, and shouldn't take long to finally get it home!

bummer. Not in your driveway yet.
I am surprised it moved 2 feet. These will get stuck easily, and even in 1/2 down in the dirt they will spin tires. they will back up more dirt easier then go forward. It makes a huge difference if you are able to lower the air pressure to 15 psi, but that is alot of time and work. You are better off jacking it up and setting it on some 2x6's. Keep it on dry ground.

I don't know where you are located, but I have 6 steel 16" cone shaped
steel wheels with BF Goodrich T/A Commercials mounted on them. They are
still within the date code and have over 50% tread left. I mounted Eagle
Alloys and new T/A's and I would part with my steel wheels. They are powder
coated Grey, so would go with most colors. If you are interested, contact
me for price etc.

Sounds like a good set, unfortunately I'm halfway across the country in Omaha, Nebraska. Only good thing about that is dually trucks are dime a dozen out here, so it shouldn't be too hard to come up with a set. Did the same thing several years ago with a 1964 Chevy car hauler, the thing had 17.5" split rims and tires were next to impossible to find so just switched it to the newer 16" rims.

I had to go through 20+ wheels to get 7 good, round, straight, rust free
wheels, but your luck might be better than mine.

Mine are the shape that clears OEM calipers for the most part. Lot of
inconsistencies in castings on the rotors and calipers as well as the
thickness of replacement pads. Why I said "most". I have no interest in
shipping these anywhere, but I might throw them into my trailer and meet
someone on the West Coast within 250 miles or so if Salem, Or.

Figured no sense in starting a new topic for an update. It isn't home yet, but if all goes well it will be next weekend.
Now that it runs and drives, the biggest problem was tires. The fronts were about bald, the rears looked rough and one was flat with a split sidewall. Didn't even want to have it towed on those, much less drive it. HUGE thanks to Gary in IA, who needed to get rid of a set of later GMC radial wheels and tires at just the right time! This past weekend was all road trips, a 10 hour round trip across Iowa on Saturday in a borrowed pickup to fetch the wheels, then to Kansas on Sunday to swap out the wheels and bring the old ones and the leaky gas tank back. So technically, PART of the coach is now home.
As long as I can rustle up a helper, the plan is to drive down next weekend and bring it back. I've already renewed my AAA Plus RV membership just in case, and it'll be all secondary country roads coming back. Avoiding the highways will keep speeds down, don't need to be run over by 75mph traffic on I-80. Keeping my fingers crossed!
