I want recommendations on use of Flex Shot Sealant. Does anybody know how to remove it. If its is too hard to remove or you know of something better please reply
I must reseal the outside of my vent. The big one with the fan in it.

As always thank you for your advice.

Wayne,

The Flex seal and Flex shot make a lot of TV claims. I have not used it as I use typically us 3M Marine Adhesive Sealant 5200. I don’t think the Flex shot is paintable, only the Flex Seal version says that it is paintable

Another that I would recommend would be an automotive seam sealer such as:

You can also find these seam sealers at most auto parts stores that also do paints.

If you are sealing your 14" vent, Camping World has a very nice kit for less then $20, that will definitely stop any and all leaks. Normal stuff in kit, plus Eternabond tape to positively seal the seam. You must remove all silicon sealant as Eternabond tape will not stick/seal to silicon.

Wayne,

Just got this reply to my question on wether you can paint over Flex Shot. See answer below:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank You for your inquiry regarding FLEX SHOT. No, we do not recommend painting over Flex Shot. It comes in multiple colors to match almost any decor: white, almond and black. And then there's always clear, which goes with anything and everything. If you have any questions please reply directly to this email. Thank you and have a wonderful day.
