Scary video. With front wheel drive, and losing a front tire, would speeding up still be the solution? Do not want to test any theory.

Based on experience in cars, a resounding YES. The solution is always more power until you have control, and then a controlled slowing.

We ran a Neon in a “Lemons” (as in 24 Hours of LeMons) race. Lost one of the fronts on the carousel. Mash the skinny pedal on the right. Get control, slow down.

TomMS II,

Further down the page is another vid that describes why you should accelerate. And in fact, they show you several tests using intentional blowouts on test tracks.

In summary, the vid states accelerating is the correct action in all scenarios... FWD, RWD, font blowout, rear blowout, cars, trucks, pulling a trailer, in the rain, etc.

The instructional vid was put out by Michelin, so it is a very reputable source...
