SORRY ABOUT THE NON-GMC POSTING BELOW:

To satisfy my granddaughters and see some of their postings, I joined
Facebook a couple of years ago. I've never posted, but do receive some of
the GMC-related information, somehow.

As of 1 minute ago, I've deleted my FB account completely. The liberal
bias it's demonstrated for a long time was finally brought to a head by
Zucker...'s donation of $20M to defeat Trump. I have no use for DT, but I
cannot condone any action contributing to allowing Hellery to pack the
Supreme Court, condemning the country to 30+ years of liberal anarchy.

If you want to communicate with me about GMC's (or anything else) it will
have to be other than via Facebook.

Ken H.

A small note from the outside. afaik, it wasn't Zuckerberg that donated
the $20M according to all I know. It was the co-founder.

You are correct Peer. But in as divisive an election as this one, in a divided a country as the U.S. right now, we aren't letting facts get in the way of our indignation. If we did, neither of our current abhorrent choices would have made it this far in the process.

You gotta do what you gotta do. And I admire you for pulling the plug on principle.

Unfortunately, to a lot of users, FB is easier to connect with. I'm afraid it hurts us more than it hurts zuckerburg.

Didn't need to know this about your political view, Ken. Now it will

Slightly saddened by that, honestly.

Some of yall may of seen the sign I hang on the popup beside the GMC. One side refers to Kuvasz, the other says "Politics and religion NOT spoken here". And while I take no issue with anyone's, I don't pay attention to them either. Let's worry about motorhomes. Accept FB for what it is - short attention span theater.

I have been running a gutted FB account for about 2 years now. I see or receive NOTHING other than the GMC and classic auto groups. No news, no friends crap, no ads other than an extremely few inline ads.

http://gmc.mybirdfeeder.net/GMCforum/index.php?t=msg&goto=297850&rid=2865#msg_297850

In addition to the above-referenced gutting instructions, on desktop Chrome browsers I'm now running the uBlock Origin extension and have ripped & customized the FB pages to my liking. No big header pictures hogging the top space and no right-hand column. Basically, just the posts and the left-hand navigation column.

I dislike FB, but I can tell you that nowhere else sources mods and parts better --particularly one-off or custom mod ideas.

Let me tell you about my three problems with FaceBook:

There are people that write there and think that they know about GMCs. They don't. They deliver incomplete or even wrong advise. One new owner has even had to abandon owning his coach because he listened to the wrong person and ignored those that tried to give him the good answers. I gave up and just advised people where to download manuals and stopped answering questions at all.

There is no archive to search. So, those answers that have been thoroughly beaten to death here, have to be re-answered every time some person stumbles onto a "deal" of a low mileage coach.

The third is entirely the political bias of the site ownership. This may be their right. There is enough bias in the Lame Stream Mediocraida to go around. As FB does get paid by advertisers the passing eyeball, I choose to not fund them any longer.

I only hooked up on FB to try to bring the new and younger owners into the family. This has been a really poor ROI. I will announce the future SEMCO Lunches there, but only because this is the only venue I can get to for free.

There are 2,340 members of the Classic GMC Motorhomes group. (compared to
1,390 GMCnetters) That's a lot of nubies and wannabe's that want and need
guidance.

Thanks to several "old hands" that continue to help with advice and send
links to archived information around the web.

Like it or not, this is the starting place for a great many of our future
GMC owners.

FYI, here is the first few lines of the "Pinned Post" at the top of the
