Just wondering if someone with a rear bath Royale that has remodeled the bath area might answer a question. I'd like to remove the raised stand the John sits on as I can't count the number of times I've stubbed my toe on it. Just wondering what runs under there that will need to be relocated. Any help/advise would sure be appreciated.
Thanks, Hal

Hal,

I'm pretty sure the rear bath Royale is configured just like the rear bath
Birchaven. It's been 17+ years since I rebuilt mine, but IIRC, the only
reason for the platform is the fact that the floor is not level back there
-- remember the rear kickup? So the platform is mandatory to provide a
level surface to set the toilet on. Look inside the right rear compartment
door and you'll see the kickup at the rear.

When I rebuilt my Royale rear bath I went with a Thetford porcelain stool. The original stool is on the platform to raise it to usable height. The platform also covers a hole in the side of the tub and the cabinet where the water supply for the toilet comes out. I replaced the tub also and rearranged the plumbing. My problem was my rear black tank was in pieces. When I was replacing it I decided to redo the bath. The rear floor height change is under the counter.
